Q: How do I register for the workshop?

A: You can register through the link on our website at www.theinsideoutcreative.com or directly through Eventbrite at www.eventbrite.ca. Eventbrite is a PCI-compliant Service Provider. The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is a set of requirements designed to ensure that all companies that process, store, or transmit credit card information maintain a secure environment.

Q: Do I have to pre-register my child?

A: Pre-registration is required to confirm your child’s spot. Space is limited. Spots are filled on a first come, first serve basis.

Q: My child hasn’t trained a lot in dance, music or acting can they still register?
 

A: Absolutely! Our Creator A Workshop is designed for kids who are expressive and creative but have not had a lot of formal training as of yet. 

Q: How do I know if I register my child in Creator A or Creator B?

A:  If your child has less than 2 years of experience/training in either dance, music or acting sign them up for Creator A. If your child has had more than 2 years of experience/training in either dance, music or acting sign them up for Creator B. Still not sure? If you have more questions about your child’s placement feel free to contact us. 

 

Q: Who is the faculty?

A: Our rockstar faculty of industry professionals will vary event to event. Sign up for our newsletter to keep up to date with everything Inside Out. We aim to announce workshop faculty 1-3 months ahead of each event. 

Q: What does a typical workshop day look like? 

These are tentative schedules for Creator A and Creator B programs. The schedules may vary slightly. 

 

Schedule for Creator  A 

 

8am -9am Doors Open & Sign-in 

Meet the team and faculty. Receive your welcome package.  Settle into the space.

 

9am-9:50am Warm up 

This class includes warming up the body, the voice and the spirit. A mix of Yoga, Meditation, Visualization, Dance and Games. This class is designed to get the creative light flowing and get the energy zinging.  

 

10 am-11am Dance Lab

This class can range from working on dance basics to exploring your own dance routine. 


 

11 am-12pm  Mindfulness Lab 

Learn the basics of breath and meditation through fun and games. Find the calm within.

 

12 pm - 12:50pm Lunch 

Lunch not provided. Please bring your own snacks and bagged lunch. Nut free. 

 

1 pm - 1:50pm  Music Lab

Work on music basics and explore your voice through singing and songwriting. 

 

2pm- 2:50pm Drama Lab

Let your inner drama Queen/King out! Work with scripts, improvise and act up a storm!

 

3 pm - 3:50pm  Mental Health Lab

Work with a mental health professional to discover tools and explore exercises that aid in maintaining a healthy mindspace.

 

4 pm - Meditation and Reflection on Day

A quiet moment to absorb and journal about the lessons and experiences of the day. 

 

4:30pm - Parent Pick up 

 

**Water breaks are welcome whenever a student needs one.

**Snack breaks are welcome and prompted in between classes throughout the day.


 

Schedule for Creator B 

 

8am - 9am Doors Open & Sign-in

Explore your own artistry in this session. This is an opportunity to discover more about your own style and choreography.

Learn meditation and visualization tools to support your mind and spirit.

Lunch not provided. Please bring your own snacks and a bagged lunch. Nut free.


 

1:00-2:25pm Music Lab

Q: What should my child bring to the workshop? 

A: Clothes they can move in all day, a waterbottle, lunch/snacks (nut free). 

 

Q: What should my child wear to the workshop?

A: We advise students to wear something comfortable that they can move freely in.

 

Q: Is lunch provided?

A: Lunch is not provided. Please bring lunch/snacks that are nut free. 

 

Q: Can I visit and observe my child as they participate in the workshop? 

A: You are welcome to visit on lunch break. With our venues being intimate we don’t have observer passes available for parents at this time. 

 
Q: When do I drop off my child? 

A: Doors Open at 8am. Sign-in takes place between 8-9am. Our first class starts at 9am! 

 

Q: Where do I go once I arrive at the venue? 

A: You’ll look for The Inside Out Creative Signs outside leading you to the event. Once you are inside the building continue to follow the signs to our registration desk to check in, meet our Inside Out Team and receive your Welcome Package! 

 

Q: How big are your workshop groups? 

A: Our workshop groups can range from 25-100 kids. We utilize different event spaces to create a range of learning opportunities both small and large. 

 

Q: Is there someone to watch my child during lunch break? 

A: Yes! Our Inside Out Team will be present to watch your child during lunch break. The kids are welcome to stay onsite with us. Parents are also welcome to spend lunch with them.
